Chettinad lamb rib bone curry (nenju elumbu kulambu)


Ingredients
Rib bones1/4 kg
Small onions 15
Onion chopped 1 cup
Tomato 1
Green chilli 1
Garlic 5 pods
Ginger 1 inch
Poppy seeds 2 tsp
Coconut grated 2 tbsp
Pepper corns 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Chilli powder 2 tsp
Coriander powder 3 tsp
Fennel seeds 1 tsp
Cinnamon 1
Bay leaf 1
Oil and salt as required
Preparations
1.      Clean the bone pieces .pressure cook it with turmeric powder and a cup of water for 2 whistles
2.      Make a fine paste of small onions,garlic,ginger,cumin seeds,coconut,pepper  corns and poppy seeds
3.      In a pressure cooker add oil, fennel seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon, onions, green chilli and tomatoes. sauté it till tomatoes blends well
4.      To it add the ground paste, cooked bone pieces, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt
5.      Cook for 3 whistles.
Serve hot with rice, briyanis.a perfect accompaniment with egg briyani
