Thalasseri nadan meen curry

Indian mackerel fish ½ kg
Onion chopped 1
Tomatoes chopped 2
Ginger chopped 1 tsp
Garlic chopped 2 tsp
Green chilli slit 4
Tamarind extract ½ cup
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Curry leaf 2 sprigs
Coconut oil 2 tbsp
Salt as required
1.      In a bowl(clay pot) add  onion,ginger,garlic,tomatoes,green chilli,turmeric powder,chilli powder,curry leaf,salt  and coconut oil
2.      Add cleaned fish pieces.
3.      Mix all the ingredients gently
4.      Keep aside for  30 min
5.      Lit the stove and place this vessel on it
6.      Add 2 cups of water to it
7.      Allow it to boil
8.      Add tamarind extract and cook till the gravy thickens
Turn off the flame.Close the lid 
Serve with rice after 1-2 hrs
Tastes well the next day
