Ingredients
Fish 500 gms
Onion 1
Garlic 10
Ginger 1 inch piece
Dry red chillis 6-8 (soak in hot for 15 minutes.Drain the water and deseed the chillies.ground to a fine paste)
Pepper corns 2 tsp(dry roast and powder it coarsely)
Coriander seeds 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds 1 tsp
Soya sauce 1 tsp
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Coconut milk 1 cup
Salt and oil as required
Preparation
1. Dry roast fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds and coriander seeds
2. To it add onion,ginger,garlic,red chilli paste and salt
3. Grind together to a fine paste.keep aside
4. In a pan add oil and ground paste.saute well
5. Add soya sauce and 2 cups of water
6. Add fish and cook till fish is done
7. Once done add cocnut milk and pepper powder ,when it starts boiling turn off the flame
8. Add lemon juice and close the lid
9. Allow it to stand for 15 minutes(more the standing time, more the taste)
Serve with rice or idiappam
